How condominium boards can deal with delinquent owners

April 26, 2011 11:41PM

As condominium boards struggle to obtain unpaid fees from unit owners,
one option is on the table: posting late notices on their doors.
According to Florida law, associations are required to provide written
notice of their intent to place a lien on the property. The notice can
be by delivery of a copy, or by certified mail with a return receipt.
While condo boards have been working through the downturn to collect
fees from delinquent owners, some think embarrassing owners will shame
them into paying. [Sun
