Miami Jewish Health Systems, the non-profit nursing home operator, has broken ground on a $10.5 million Pembroke Pines housing project for low-income seniors, the South Florida Business Journal reported. The 75-unit building, at 705 S.W. 88th Avenue, will be built under the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 202 program and is an addition to Miami Jewish’s Douglas Gardens North assisted living facility. The project is set for completion by 2012, and is angling for LEED-Silver certification. [SFBJ]
