Blockbuster is shuttering 25 more South Florida store locations as it prepares to be sold off to Dish Network as part of its bankruptcy restructuring. The video rental chain asked for permission from U.S. Bankruptcy Court to cancel 716 leases, while Dish agreed last month to take on the leases for at least 500 stores nationwide once the acquisition is complete. The nearly 1,000 remaining stores will be closed. The South Florida areas with stores on the chopping block are: Miami, Hialeah, Miami Gardens, Key Biscayne, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Weston, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Miramar, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Lake Worth, Delray Beach, North Palm Beach and Jupiter.
