Tex-Mex restaurant chain Tijuana Flats is planning to open some 10 restaurants in South Florida over the next year and a half. The company, which already has 52 branches in the state and 10 in the tri-county region, looks for spaces that average 2,200 square feet in high-traffic areas. The first new location will open next month at 1489 S.E. 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale. New restaurants in Oakland Park and Pembroke Pines will follow in the fourth quarter and early next year. Last year, Tijuana Flats opened locations in Hollywood and Palm Beach Gardens. [SFBJ]
