Pompano gives away home in Leisureville retirement community

Residents of Pompano Beach, 55 years or older and meeting income requirements, may enter a draw to win a new home from the city, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Having bought and rehabilitated a foreclosed home in the Leisureville retirement community, the city now plans to give the property, worth $83,000, away. The aim is to encourage interest in homes it has rehabilitated for resale to qualified individuals and families through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
