Residents in North Miami-Dade County are objecting to plans by a
developer to turn the California Club Golf Course into an
“equestrian-themed” residential project. Liliane Stransky, who bought
the course for $800,000 last year, plans to turn the 181-acre property
into something similar to the polo facilities of Wellington. “I’m just a
dreamer,” she said. “The place has a marvelous energy, and I’m planning
to move there with two of my kids, with my friends and family too.”
Hurricane Wilma caused serious damage to the property in 2005. The plan
must be endorsed by 75 percent of the homeowners who live within 500
feet of the course. [Miami
