Buyers picks up Fort Myers amusement park for $1.385M

A unknown buyer in under contract to buy Zoomers, the nearly-completed amusement park on the road to Fort Myers Beach, for $1,385,000 — less than a tenth of the amount poured into the ill-fated project by owner Ronald Heromin of Osprey during the real estate boom, News Press reported. Heromin abandoned the project after running up $15 million in debt and it was picked up at a Federal Deposit Insurance auction.

The new owner wants to revive Heromin’s dream of opening the attraction, said Fred Kermani, the sales agent for the property.

Zoomers was one of 34 properties acquired by the FDIC when it brokered deals to shut down failed banks. [News Press]
