Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, along with Kolter Group, have broken ground
in Delray Beach on a new hotel project. The Hyatt Place hotel is slated
to have 134 rooms. The project, which will be located at 104 North East
Second Avenue near Atlantic Avenue, is the first new construction hotel
since the Seagate Resort in 2007. “Of the 750 hotel rooms in Delray
Beach, 314 have become available since 2001,” said Jorge Pesquera, CEP
of the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “When the new
Hyatt Place opens next year, it will bring the town’s inventory to 884
rooms, increasing Delray’s total inventory another 18 percent.” [SFBJ]
