Broward single-family, condo sales up

Broward County saw a jump in the number of sales for both single-family
homes and condominiums last month, according to data from the Miami
Association of Realtors. There were a total of 1,293 condominium sales
in July, a 12 percent increase over the same period in 2010, and 1,087
single-family home sales, an 8 percent jump. “Sales in Broward County
continue to increase for both single-family homes and condominiums,
which is a very positive sign,” said Terri Bersach, president of the
Broward County Board of Governors of the Miami Association of Realtors.
“Strong sales activity, which is boosted by strong demand from foreign
buyers, has resulted in a more stable market.” While the average sales
price for a single-family home in the county fell 9.5 percent, the
average sales price for condos actually rose 12.1 percent. — Alexander Britell
