More than three years of the abysmal real estate market in South Florida has taken an unexpected victim. The Miami Herald reported that the region’s largest landscaping company, Vila & Son, based at 13901 NW 118th Street, will dissolve and auction off its assets through Moecker Auctions. The firm is laying off all 650 of its employees, and selling all of its equipment — valued between $3 million and $5 million. During the real estate boom years, the company generated nearly $60 million in sales per year. [Miami Herald]
