Developer Wexford’s new 252,000-square-foot
University
of Miami Life Science and Technology Park
is looking to jumpstart
Florida’s biotech industry, hoping to eventually turn one office
building into an epicenter of growth in the industry. “If the project
does get built, it will make Miami the biotech center of the Western
Hemisphere,” said Tony Ojeda, head of Miami-Dade County’s economic
development office. “Whether or not they ever build five buildings,
that’s another story.” The first phase of the project is located
at 11951 NW 7th Avenue
in Miami’s burgeoning Health District. [Miami
