Caribbean ocean shipping company SeaFreight Agencies will open a new
25-acre marine cargo terminal tomorrow, as part of a 15 percent
expansion at the Port. The project, which began in 2010, cost a total of
$12.3 million, half of which was financed through grants from the
Florida Department of Transportation. SeaFreight was the first Port
Everglades client to operate a cargo terminal at the new yard, which
opened in January. The company was awarded a 10-year lease at the yard
by the Broward County Commission. — Alexander
