NYC gym expands to Miami Beach

From left: Steel Gym’s Manhattan location and Soyka’s 55th Street StationManhattan-based Steel Gym has opened its second U.S. location at Soyka’s 55th Street Station in Miami Beach, the company announced today. It took over the 6,000-square-foot location, at 5556 NE 4th Court, from Idol’s Gym, which occupied the space since 1999.

“We had been looking to add more locations for quite some time,” said Ken Hunt, Steel Gym’s owner. “Idol’s Gym offered us the best opportunity to expand the Steel Gym brand into a great location.”

The gym’s first location is in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, and the ownership is preparing to expand the brand, which is repeatedly cited among the top gyms in Manhattan, nationally. — Adam Fusfeld
