Groups file petition to stop dredging plan at Port of Miami

A group of organizations, including the Tropical Audobon Society, has filed a petition to stop the planned dreading at the
Port of Miami, which is now being reviewed by the U.S. Army Corps of
engineers. The dredging plan would help the port accommodate the large
ships that would be able to reach Miami thanks to the expansion of the
Panama Canal. The canal expansion has led to increased interest in
Miami’s industrial market
