Florida banks among worst in U.S.

December 13, 2011 10:54AM

More than 37 percent of Florida banks are either “troubled” or
“problematic,” according to safety ratings from Coral Gables-based
BauerFinancial, the Palm Beach Post reported. That is the second-highest
percentage of troubled banks of any state in the country, and the
lowest rate of healthy banks. The ratings firm did say Florida banks
were showing signs of improvement, however, with a higher percentage of
recommended banks. [Palm
