SF foreclosure stats for the week

Though there were fewer foreclosures filed in South Florida this week than during the same week a year ago, 2012 continues to outpace the foreclosure rate in 2011 in the tri-county area. According to Condo Vultures there were 689 foreclosures filed in the week ending Jan. 27 compared to 731 for the same seven days of 2011. However, the total number of foreclosures year-to-date is 2,658, well ahead of the 2,154 that were filed during the same period in 2011. Miami-Dade and Broward counties are responsible for the increase, as Palm Beach County is actually behind last year’s rate. — Adam Fusfeld
