Donald Trump could make presidential bid

Despite having withdrawn his bid for the Republican presidential nomination in May, New York real estate developer Donald Trump may still consider a run for president, he told CBS News yesterday, because “the country is going to hell in a handbasket” (see video above).

“I’m still thinking about it,” he told CBS’ Bob Schieffer. “We’ll see what happens.”

He also took the opportunity to rail against the current frontrunners in the GOP race, saying he’d never seen anything like the malevolence on display.

“The level of hatred is unbelievable,” he said. “The question is, are they hurting their chances of winning an election against Barack Obama? It’s possible that they’re hurting themselves.” [CBS]
