Miami man used mortgage fraud to buy marijuana grow houses

Miami-Dade county resident Roberto Caro has pleaded guilty to one count of money laundering and one count of conspiracy to manufacture and possess with intent to distribute marijuana, both of which were related to mortgage fraud, according to United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida Wifredo Ferrer. According court documents, Caro bought a number of homes through mortgage fraud that he used as marijuana grow houses in Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties.
