The Florida House of Representatives has passed by a vote of 94 to 17 a bill that would quicken the pace of foreclosures in the state, according to the Palm Beach Post. The bill, HB 213, still needs to be approved by the Senate. It would shorten the time banks have to go after homeowners for debt, and speed up foreclosures where the homeowner abandons the property. The bill has met criticism from some judges, who say that many of these cases would move more quickly if attorneys were better prepared. [Palm Beach Post]
