Broward pending home sales jump 32 percent

The total number of single-family home and condominium listings that pended in Broward County during January were up 32 percent compared to January 2011, according to data from the Miami Association of Realtors. Broken down, the total number of single-family home sales that pended increased 50.4 percent, with condo sales up 20.5 percent in the same period. “Despite a sharp decline in Broward County existing housing inventory over the last year, we continue to see strong sales activity,” said Rick Burch, president of the Broward Council of the Miami Association of Realtors. “Pending sales continue to rise, reflecting strong demand for both single-family homes and condominiums countywide.” — Alexander Britell
