CBRE is top commercial lender in South Florida

CBRE Capital Market Groups was the top originator of commercial mortgages in South Florida in 2011, according to a new ranking released Friday by the South Florida Business Journal. The firm originated $1.52 billion worth of loans to take the top spot, after ranking second last year.

Last year’s top lender, Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, fell to third this year with $1.2 billion in commercial mortgages originated.

Some of the big name newcomers to this year’s list are BankUnited, Sabadell United and FirstBank Florida. [SFBJ]
