New Port Everglades gas plant approved

The new 1,277-megawatt natural gas plant at Port Everglades has been approved by Florida’s Public Service Commission, the South Florida Business Journal reported. The project, which will overhaul the current Port Everglades Next Generation Energy Center in Fort Lauderdale, will start construction in 2014, with operation slated to begin in 2016. [SFBJ]
