DCT Commerce Center breaks ground in Miami

DCT Industrial Trust has broken ground on the first of two buildings at the DCT Commerce Center at Miami’s Pan American West Industrial Park, according to CBRE’s David Albert and Devin White, who will lead marketing for the project. The project, which is located on NW 17th Street between NW 133 and NW 135th avenues, will include 167,000 square feet in its first phase. The Airport/Doral Submarket continues to show strength, with 45 percent of Miami’s total industrial absorption in the first quarter of 2012, according to CBRE. Phase II of the project will include another 167,000 square feet. DCT is set for completion in the fourth quarter of 2012. — Alexander Britell
