Sun Sentinel re-ups 25,133-square-foot lease in Deerfield Beach

The South Florida Sun Sentinel has signed a deal to renew its 25,133-square-foot lease at 321 Goolsby Boulevard in Deerfield Beach. “They’ve been in occupancy for a number of years in that facility,” said Sky Groden, executive director with Cushman and Wakefield’s Industrial Brokerage Team, which represented landlord Cabot Properties and handled both sides of the deal. Groden was joined on the deal by Rick Etner, Chris Metzger and Christopher Thompson.

The newspaper has occupied the space since 1998 as a distribution center.

While Miami’s industrial sector has received much of the attention for its regional-best vacancy rate, Broward’s industrial sector is beginning to tighten up, Groden said.

“The market is showing a strong positive indication that there’s a lot of strength out on the industrial sector,” he told The Real Deal. “There is a lot more demand from tenant leasing activity that we’ve seen, and a number of groups have recently come into the market from outside of the state looking at potential new locations.” — Alexander Britell
