Florida Power & Light’s planned expansion of four nuclear reactors at its nuclear plants in Florida is proving costlier than initially anticipated, the Palm Beach Post reported. The project, which includes Miami-Dade County’s Turkey Point facility, has seen its price rise to $3 billion, a $600 million increase. “Simply put, the additional cost mainly reflects that more engineering, labor and supervision work is needed to complete the installation of the upgraded equipment in the plants,” said Mike Waldron, a spokesperson for FPL.
