B Hotels to expand to Miami, Miami Beach

B Hotels & Resorts, which opened the B Ocean Fort Lauderdale last year, is planning an expansion in Florida, the Miami Herald reported. The company is planning to open a downtown Miami hotel early in 2013, with a property in Orlando to follow. Another planned project on South Beach is also expected to launch next year. That property will be located at the 251-room Continental Oceanfront South Beach hotel at 1825 Collins Avenue. The downtown Miami property will be dubbed a b2 hotel, and will be occupying the former Continental Bayside Hotel at 146 Biscayne Boulevard. [Miami Herald]
