As CEO of Vector Group, 50 percent owner of Douglas Elliman Realty and holder of numerous other titles, Howard Lorber is South Florida’s highest paid executive for the fourth time in seven years, according to the South Florida Business Journal. Lorber received $36.13 million in salary and bonuses last year, $3.27 million of which came from the tobacco giant Liggett Group, distributions to Vector shareholders and earnings at Douglas Elliman Realty. Parent company Vector calls Douglas Elliman Realty “the largest residential real estate brokerage company in the New York metropolitan area” on their website.
Lober owns a 443-square-foot condo on Miami’s Fisher Island but seems to spend all but his winter weekends in the Northeast. In The closing, Lorber told The Real Deal that on his perfect winter Sunday afternoon “you will find me in Fisher Island, Fla., but only on the weekends.” [SFBJ]
