Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach plans to put in 40-foot-tall wind turbines

The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is planning to spend $500,000 on the installation of six wind turbines at the property, the Sun Sentinel reported. The project, which has been approved by the city of Fort Lauderdale and the Federal Aviation Administration, will erect six 40-foot-tall turbines on its roof by the winter. “The project is a great idea,” said resident Cindy Galiette. “It brings more attention to Fort Lauderdale as a trend-setter.” Several more turbines had been proposed on the street in front of the hotel, but they did not make it to the final version.
