Swire to break ground on Brickell CitiCentre

Developer Swire Properties will break ground on the $1.05 billion Brickell CitiCentre project in downtown Miami on Wednesday. The development will cover 5.4 million gross square feet, including a shopping center, two residential towers, a hotel, a wellness center and two office buildings at 701 South Miami Avenue. The project could create 1,700 jobs, according to the company, along with $15 million each year in ad valorem taxes for the city of Miami. Swire is the U.S. subsidiary of Swire Properties, which is part of the Hong Kong-based Swire Pacific. — Alexander Britell
