Swire selects contractor for Brickell CitiCentre parking, foundation projects

Hong Kong-based developer Swire Properties has selected Turner Construction Company, with Dragados USA, as the contractor to build the foundation and underground parking at the newly-launched Brickell CitiCentre project. The 9.1-acre development, which broke ground last week, is scheduled to complete its first phase by 2015. “This first contract was a very competitive process and a tough choice,” said Christopher Gandolfo, senior vice president for development at Swire. “They have proposed a program that fits well with Swire Properties’ corporate mandate of sustainability.” Turner and several other firms are under consideration for the main construction contract at the site, which is worth approximately $500 million. — Alexander Britell
