Jamie Aguiar, the wife of missing millionaire Guma Aguiar, is seeking court permission to sell the couple’s $5 million Fort Lauderdale home and a 75-foot boat, ABC News reported. Aguiar’s assets are held in a trust which a Florida court recently approved Northern Trust to manage. “Jamie has concluded that she must face the possibility that she may never see Guma again and, accordingly, must be frugal to preserve the family fortune to the greatest extent possible.” The last sighting of Aguiar was in mid-June in Fort Lauderdale. “Both the home and the boat are far too large and expensive for Jamie to maintain, and keeping them would not be conductive to Jamie’s goal for conserving funds,” Jamie Aguiar’s attorney, William Scherer, wrote in a motion. Mrs. Aguiar is also in a dispute with her mother-in-law, Ellen Aguiar, who have traded legal barbs over Aguiar’s disappearance. [ABC News]
