Plaza Construction, which recently changed its name from KM/Plaza, has begun construction on the Dadeland Mall Kendall Wing expansion project. The job involves a new 102,000-square-foot retail and restaurant expansion at the property. Plaza is already almost two months into work on another high-profile project, the $100 million redevelopment of the Perry South Beach hotel and condominiums, which was formerly the Gansevoort hotel. The name change was part of what founder Brad Meltzer said was the gradual integration of KM into the Plaza Construction organization. — Alexander Britell
