Design Review Board approves Palau at Sunset Harbour condo project

The Miami Beach Design Review Board has approved the Palau at Sunset Harbour project, the Miami Herald reported. The proposed condominium complex, which would include 50 units in a design by Miami’s Kobi Karp, is being developed by the family of former Disney executive Roy Disney. It still will require zoning approval from the city. “It’s a beautiful project and it belongs in the neighborhood,” said Wayne Pathman, who is lobbying for the project on behalf of the developer. Sunset Harbour, once mostly full of towing companies and undeveloped lots, has seen a rebirth of late, led in part by the expansion of the Pubbelly restaurant and its satellites. Some local residents have expressed concerns over Palau’s size, however. [Miami Herald] — Alexander Britell
