South Street opens in former Sra. Martinez space in Design District

Amir Ben-Zion of Gigi fame and Philadelphia’s Amaris Jones have opened the new restaurant South Street in the former location of Michelle Bernstein’s Sra. Martinez in the Design District, Eater reported. The new eatery, which is located at 4000 NE 2nd Avenue, officially opened its doors on Friday. Last month, Ben-Zion opened another new restaurant project, Cooper Avenue, in Frank Gehry’s New World Center, also in Miami Beach. That had originally been the site of a planned “Gigi Village” food complex until being shelved in favor of Cooper Avenue. [Eater]
