ABC and Univision to headquarter new 24-hour Hispanic network in Miami

Television networks ABC and Univision will be siting their new joint, 24-hour Hispanic network in Miami, the Miami Herald reported. The channel, which will be in English, could bring 350 jobs to Miami-Dade County in what will fill an as-yet-undescribed 150,000-square-foot facility. “If there is a place to have a 24-hour network for Hispanics, it’s Miami,” said City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado. “I think it’s fantastic, and I think it’s a natural.” Miami was chosen among several metropolitan contenders, including Houston and New York. Univision currently has a studio in Doral. [Miami Herald]
