Affordable housing developer Carffour Supportive Housing has broken ground on the Hampton Village, a new project in Miami-Dade County. The project, which is a redevelopment of an existing apartment complex that was abandoned and occupied by squatters, will have 100 newly-renovated units. It is scheduled to be completed in late 2013. It is designed for residents with incomes at or below 60 percent of the area’s median income. Carrfour acquired the property, along with two other Miami-area complexes, with $17 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Hampton Village is located at 4301 NW 29th Avenue. It is being developed in partnership with Landmark Companies and asset management firm Special Asset Support Services. — Alexander Britell
