The number of condominium and co-op sales in the town of Palm Beach rose 180 percent in August compared to August 2011, according to a report from attorney and real estate analyst Leslie Robert Evans. There were a total of 28 condo and co-op sales in Palm Beach in August, compared to just 10 in the same period in 2011. Single-family home sales also experienced improvement, with 12 sales in August 2012 compared to nine in August 2011. The latter represented the first time single-family home sales had shown two consecutive months of year-over-year improvement. Overall, the dollar volume of sales in single-family and condo/co-ops rose to $71.7 million from $59.3 million the year before, an increase of 21 percent. – Alexander Britell
