The 66-year-old Builders Association of South Florida has merged with the Gold Coast Builders Association to create the Florida Atlantic Building Association, a regional lobbying arm. The merger was made as the building industry works to recover from the downturn.
The new 300 member regional trade group will focus on government issues that affect builders across South Florida. The group will hold an installation meeting for officers and directors on November 30 at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art.
According to Ben Solomon, vice president and general counsel of the new trade group, said, “It’s an opportunity as the market rebuilds to associate with a strong association.” [Miami Herald] —Christopher Cameron
