Physicians are increasingly opting for retail spaces rather than traditional offices spaces, buoying the demand for store fronts along South Florida’s most-trafficked retail strips, the Sun Sentinel reported.
“Medical has always been a smaller niche, but now it’s expanded,” Peter Reed of Commercial Florida Realty Services in Boca Raton, told the Sentinel.
For instance, Dr. Evan Goldstein opened Boca Regional Urgent Care in 2011, at the intersection of Glades and Lyons roads — an active retail corridor, the Sentinel said. He tells people it’s next to Pier One Imports when he needs to give directions
“All the old rules of medical real estate don’t apply,” he told the Sentinel. [Sun Sentinel] –Guelda Voien
