Miami’s land use board has approved car dealership honcho Norman Braman’s plan to construct a seven-story, almost 100,000-square-foot showroom and garage at his Braman Motors site on Biscayne Boulevard, the Miami Herald reported. The approval comes with an exemption to new zoning rules that will allow him to develop more than 55,000 square feet.
The building will occupy nearly the whole block between 20th and 21st streets. Plans include the demolition of a current showroom and a parking lot. Beyond the new features, the new on-site development will also have a truck driveway, a loading area, a ground-floor luxury showroom and roughly 90 spaces of parking on the upper levels for the dealership’s cars.
The proposal previously surfaced in February, but board members requested that Braman receive approval from neighbors and suss out the plan, including its landscaping details, the Herald noted. [Miami Herald] —Zachary Kussin
