A deal for the renovation of Sun Life Stadium is likely today, Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez told the Miami Herald.
The contentious issue, wherein the Dolphins’ owners and the city must decide how much public and private money will be spent on the $389 million renovation, has finally been resolved, it seems, after an all-night meeting Sunday night through Monday morning among lawyers for both sides, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, team CEO Mike Dee and the Mayor.
“I think we have a framework for an agreement,” Gimenez told the Herald. “There’s still one or two items to be resolved,” but the county will be providing some funds for the project, he said. [Miami Herald] –Guelda Voien
