Two liens have been filed on one of billionaire Jeff Greene’s Palm Beach properties, Gossip Extra reported. Two contractors claim they have not been paid in full for extensive renovations of a $24 million mansion, the site said.

West Palm Beach-based Karns & Baldwin Innovative Builders claims the investor owes more than half a million dollars a year after work commenced, while Cemex Construction Materials of Jupiter, Fla., claims it is owed $2,175.65 for materials delivered months ago, Gossip Extra reported, citing court records.

Greene, whose net worth Forbes estimates at $2.1 billion, made his fortune by buying up credit default swaps that soared in value when sub-prime loans tanked, a biographical detail not lost on Florida voters. Shortly before beginning his real estate buying spree in Palm Beach, Greene filed his candidacy for the U.S. Senate but lost the Democratic nomination to former U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek.

Greene has been working on the mansion, known as La Bellucia, since purchasing it last year from Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner Malcolm Glazer. [Gossip Extra]Emily Schmall
