Miami-Dade County sees a spike in prices per sf

From condominiums to single-family homes, average prices per square foot continue to rise in Miami-Dade County.

Condo sales in the Miami neighborhood of Coconut Grove range from $247 to $700 per square foot. The range is narrower in the central section of Coconut Grove, where the maximum rate is closer to $350 per square foot, Charlette Seidel of Coldwell Banker told Miami Today.

In Miami-Dade County, the average price per square foot of a single-family home was $185, an increase from $171 in May 2012, Ron Shuffield of Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell Realtors told the publication.

Condo prices have gone up from a year ago, but compared to six years, they’re still down. The average per square foot price in the county went from $344 in 2007, to $234 last May and $283 this May, the Miami Today News said. The median price of condos in the second quarter of 2010 was $125,000; now it’s $185,000. [Miami Today] – Mark Maurer
