Golf pro Rory McIlroy is spending some green to pick up more turf in Palm Beach Gardens. He paid $2.25 million for a vacant parcel, bringing his spending total in the city to $12 million.
The plot of land is located on Old Gate Lane in a cul-de-sac, next door to his home on the border of the Intracoastal.
Fellow golfers Lee Westwood and Charl Schwartzel also live in the area, which has drawn golf aficionados to flock there as well. [South Florida Business Journal] — Mark Maurer
