Donald Trump’s $250 million renovation under way at the 800-acre Doral Golf Resort & Spa – soon to be known as the Trump National Doral Miami — will feature four new championship golf courses and 800 new hotel rooms, instead of 692, as was initially announced.
The sweeping renovations in the country club in western Miami suburb of Doral, a Venezuelan enclave, will also include a fitness center and restaurants, according to CBS Miami.
Trump purchased the resort last year for $150 million. Renovations kicked off after the World Golf Championships’ Cadillac Championship in March, and is set to wrap next year.
“We spend a lot of time here in South Florida,” Donald’s son Eric Trump told CBS Miami. “Here at Doral, we purchased an iconic property at a very good price and we are going to do well with it.” [CBS Miami] — Mark Maurer
