Fairholme grabs more land for Miami office tower plan

Fairholme Funds managing member and president Bruce Berkowitz bought additional land surround his office tower project at 26th Street and Biscayne Boulevard in Miami.

Fairholme Midtown Association, an affiliate of the equity firm, bought the site of the proposed tower in June for $7.6 million. After two recent purchases, the land totals 58,645 square feet.

Berkowitz’s firm picked up 5,000 square feet in August when it closed on a house at 235 Northeast 26th Street for $450,000. Late last month, it snatched up 6,230 square feet at 236 Northeast 26th Terrace for $798,800. [ExMiami]Mark Maurer
