Drudge Report owner and conservative blogger Matt Drudge bid farewell to his 2,609-square-foot Mediterranean-style house off the Venetian Causeway on the man-made Rivo Alto island in Miami Beach.
FedEx executive Don Colleran and his wife purchased it from Drudge for $1.575 million. The property, which Drudge bought for $1.4 million in 2003, sat on the market for a mere 11 days before it went into contract.
But Drudge is not leaving South Florida altogether; he still owns two houses in the rural Redland of Miami. In February, he paid $700,000 in cash for his neighbor’s property on Southwest 157th Avenue, in order to merge the two homes on 10 acres with about 10,000 of living space, as previously reported. He bought the first home for $1.45 million in 2011.
He formerly owned a condominium at the Four Seasons in Downtown Miami. [ExMiami] — Mark Maurer
