A 1,000-foot observation tower could become part of Miami’s evolving skyline within the next few years.
Developer Jeffrey Berkowitz has filed plans with the city to build Skyrise Miami, exMiami reported. Arquitectonica designed the skyscraper, which would include three observation decks, restaurant space, a nightclub and movie theater. The tower is planned for a parking lot behind Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami.
Construction would begin next year if Berkowitz is able to secure city approvals by then. The Federal Aviation Administration has already signed off on the proposed building height. [exMiami] — Eric Kalis
