A New York venture is in negotiations with the City of Miami to design a production studio north of downtown Miami.
The board of the city’s Omni Community Redevelopment Agency chose a bid from EUE/Screen Gems for the $10 million studio facility in the Omni area north of downtown, Miami Herald reported. City officials want a building at 50 NW 14th Street to be rehabilitated into the “Miami Entertainment Complex.” The goal is to increase the volume of television shows and movies that are shot in Miami.
Based in New York, EUE/Screen Gems runs production facilities in Wilmington, N.C. and Atlanta. It had been ranked first by the city’s selection committee. [Miami Herald] — Eric Kalis
