With vacant land at a premium, a developer in Boca Raton is turning to a golf course as a potential project site.
The proposed development, a 288-home project on the 130-acre Mizner Trail Golf Club, is facing substantial resistance from nearby residents, Palm Beach Post reported. This is the third time in the last decade that residents of the Boca Del Mar complex are fighting a developer’s desire to build on the golf course. Opponents successfully fought off the last two attempts, as one was voted down by Palm Beach County commissioners and the second abandoned by the developer.
County zoning commissioners are scheduled to address the latest proposal on Dec. 6. The full commission is expected to vote on the project during the Jan. 9 meeting. [Palm Beach Post] — Eric Kalis
